End of Life

It’s a bright and sunny day
But it’s cloudy inside my heart
I am sitting motionless and still
In front of a church
The church goers are coming and going
In front of the church there’s a garden
The eventide prime rose is emitting a fragrance
That mitigates my grief and pain
The smell is soothing
But I feel a bit unconscious
~ ~ ~
The church clock struck twelve
It’s dark everywhere
~ ~ ~
The moment I was waiting for has come
I am walking through the churchyard
I see a gravedigger waiting for me
He is digging a grave
The task is not over, but I have to leave
For a while, I close my eyes
Tears are not coming
But I want to cry
